SDL Tridion - What, Why & Who

What is SDL Tridion:

SDL Tridion is an Enterprise Level Web Content Management System Developed by U.K based Tridion International, which later overtaken by U.K based SDL Inc. in 2007.

Why SDL Tridion:

SDL Tridion allows user to manage global, multilingual websites, multi-site content change, targeted marketing etc. across multiple channels.

It provides complex features like audience targeting, language translation, E-mail Marketing etc. out-of-the-box.

Who uses SDL Tridion

It generally used by the large, global organization who needs a real time management of vast amount of information across multiple sites and without much help of IT department.

Licensing:

This is one of the most expensive Web Content Management System and is surrounded by a very messy licensing structure. To be clear there is no trial version or low cost licenses available for your learning.(As I learnt from the SDL Tridion UK office)

Also, if you are not an organization or an MVP (Most Valued Personnel) awarded by the SDL, then procuring these licenses will be a big deal as the Organization will not even bother to respond to your query. (My personal experience & no offences please)
